Complete Vision Care That’s Focused on You

Think 20/20 = Healthy Eyes Think Again!

Many people don’t realize the importance of an eye exam. You may have 20/20 vision and still have a silent eye disease that may rob your eyesight in the future. Eye exams are for everyone and it’s preventative care. The eyes

function as a window to our bodies.  Dilated eye exam can reveal eye diseases, autoimmune diseases, diabetes, hypertension, and many other undiagnosed problems throughout the body.  Here are top 4 reasons why you should have

an eye exam:

  1. 1.VISUAL ACUITY

Have you ever wondered why you may be getting headaches? A slight over or under corrections of your prescription could contribute to eyestrain and fatigue causing annoying headaches.  Furthermore, working on the computer for long hours in a day could lead to a condition called Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS).  CVS symptoms include headaches, eyestrain, difficulty focusing, dry eyes and physical discomfort which can be treated with glasses specially made for computer users.

  1. 2.EYE DISEASES

There are also many diseases that have no symptoms in early stages such as glaucoma.  If this condition is discovered by the patient it is more often at the end stage of the disease which can lead to permanent vision loss.  However early diagnosis and treatments could prevent vision loss.  Other diseases such as cataract and macular degeneration are generally slow progressing that you may not realize it has decreased your vision.

  1. 3.DEVELOPMENTAL PROBLEMS

Uncorrected vision in children can contribute to learning disability, Amblyopia (Lazy eye) or Strabismus (Eye turn).  If not corrected at an early age permanent vision loss can occur.

  1. 4.SUNGLASSES

Did you know that children’s eyes are more susceptible to the ill effects of UV rays because they transmit more UV radiation to the retina than the eyes of an adult do?

UV rays cause cumulative damage and over time can result in retinal damage, photokeratitis (a painful temporary blindness also known as snow blindness), cataracts and macular degeneration. By simply wearing well fitting sunglasses you and your loved one can protect your eyes from harmful UV rays.
